GOD IS IN MY STORY! 

Those who know me well, know that I am a huge fan of KLOVE Radio (89.7) in the South Florida area. I fell in love with the content of this station many years ago. KLOVE’s mission is “To create compelling media that inspires and encourages you to have a meaningful relationship with Christ.” 99% of the time, I am tuned in during my daily commute. It is a significant part of how I stay connected to the vine of Christ. On many occasions, it has been a conduit God used to speak just what I needed to hear at that moment.

In my last post, I shared how I was going through a difficult season. How there were moments when I thought I wouldn’t make it, but God! Well, while I was pressing my way through, I was blessed to hear a new song titled “God Is In This Story.” I first heard this song about a year after my mother passed away. My father was in the hospital not doing so well. The chorus of the song resonated in my spirit like no other. “God is in this story; God is in the details. Even in the broken parts, He holds my heart, He never fails. When I’m at my weakest, I will trust in Jesus. Always in the highs and lows, the One who goes before me; God is in this story.” I began to repeat these lyrics as I pressed through each day, trusting that God knows best. This song was healing for my soul. So much so, I was curious to know the story behind the song.

In searching the internet, I found an article on http://www.thechristianbeat.org posted on July 7, 2022 (my mother’s birthday). It was an interview with Musical Artist Katy Nichole, and the Big Daddy Weave Band, who released the song on June 10, 2022 (a few days before my father was hospitalized.) The article mentioned that Mike Weaver (leader of the band) recently lost a band member, and Katy was healed from physical and mental suffering. During the interview, Mike shared (paraphrasing): it’s a song of hope and encouragement that God really is present with us in all the seasons of our lives – the great ones and the difficult ones. God is not giving up on us. He is in the details of our lives. We can trust Him that He is working things together for our good.” Mike’s comments told me that if things are not good, God is still working. He is in my story!  Katy shared (paraphrasing): “Looking back on my life, I always thought my story is too broken, and no one is going to want to hear about that. What I didn’t know is that people were actually seeing Jesus through my story, because God was turning the broken things into beautiful things. So, if you think that your story is too broken, I promise you that it’s not, because God is in it.” Katy’s transparency reminded me that we are overcome by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony. God is in the story of every believer, and He wants us to share His goodness with others so that they see Jesus.

The song as well as the story behind the song has been a blessing to me. I share all this so that someone reading may be blessed as well. I am grateful for the song, and the timing that it was released. It is a constant reminder that no matter what happens in my life, good or bad, God is in my story!😊
